Gifts that are pricey are usually quickly and easily put away and forgotten about. Majority of those are just not practical. Instead of spending a lot of money on a present like that, spend some time and come up with a thoughtful gift that will be appreciated.

One brilliant idea is to offer your help with wedding preparations or service during the big day and forget about the charge. That requires a special skill or talent on your side. This way you help the couple become less stressed out at the same time making it easier for yourself by not having to come up with another present. Say, if you are a beautician, you can offer to take care of the bride and her bridesmaids in terms of make-up or beauty treatments; if you’re a good cook, you can make yourself useful by helping out with food arrangements, etc.

If you choose to give a "timely" gift, like offering your service without charge, you should inform the couple shortly after you find out about the wedding. The future bride and groom start preparing for the big day months in advance, so this way you will help them plan their budget for expenses connected with the wedding.

A romantic trip for the bride and groom would make for a romantic, original gift. Spa packages, series of massages and beauty treatments shouldn’t disappoint either. If you know the wedding couple are fond of a particular type of alcohol, for example red semi-dry wine, why not provide them with a good stock of it to help them enjoy their evenings together.

You can always offer them an original idea for spending their free time like bungee-jumping or hot air-balloon ride. Dancing classes also sound in place. Vouchers for their favourite restaurant, or a couple for different eating places so they can try out something new – why not?
