Don’t spend a fortune on your wedding flowers

Although not the most important on the day, flowers still remain an essential part of your wedding decorations. As there are so many things to get and none of them come free, you might have a limited budget.

Before you decide on flowers for your wedding day, take your time and think twice.
You’re in a great position if one of your friends happens to be a florist, but as not all of us are so lucky, there must be other things we can do to limit the cost of the flowers. A good thing to do is to be honest with the florist you’re talking to and tell them what kind of a budget you’re on. This way, they won’t overcharge you or make you go for flowers you won’t be able to afford in the end.

Flowers that are in season are always sensible to consider as their price is lower than the one of plants that would have to be especially ordered from somewhere else. Having said that, it doesn’t mean you have to forget about having beautiful bouquets on your wedding day. What makes a bunch of flowers look impressive is usually not the kind of flowers it’s made up of, but the way they’re put together and little extra details added on to it.
If there is a particular kind of flowers you really want to have, but it turns out you can’t quite afford them, a good florist should be capable of recommending alternative varieties to you. Also, it’s good to bear in mind when picking a wedding date that flowers like roses will always be way more expensive during or coming up to holidays of all kind.

If you want to be even more cost-effective, you can make use of your bridesmaids’ bouquets. After they use them in church and before they dump them in the bin, why not utilize them by placing them on the tables at the reception. This way the money you paid for them won’t go to waste and the flowers will make the tables look even more festive.

Remember that taking careful decisions about things that might seem insignificant at first can make your budget work to your advantage. Before deciding on ordering flowers, try talking to a few florists, get some pieces of advice, do a little research and them make a decision without compromising on the style. Don’t forget that flowers are not what matters most on your wedding day, so there’s no point in stressing over them. They do add grace and elegance to the ceremony, but at the end of the day, they only last a few days, unlike the new path of life you’re just starting.
